Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH)


The Aristotle University of Thessaloniki is the largest Greek university. The main campus is located in the city center and spans an area of about 430.000 m2, while some of the facilities, either educational or administrative, are off-campus or in other cities.
Total includes seven schools, formed by 33 sections, 5 monotmimatikes schools and 4 independent parts.They work 61 Clinics (Medicine, Dentistry, Veterinary Medicine), 295 statutory laboratories and 23 classrooms. The Central Library of Aristotle, one of the largest in the Balkans, along with 45 regional libraries of departments and faculties (17 of which institutionalized) form the library system of AUTH
In AUTH operate 41 undergraduate programs and 69 graduate degree programs in individual departments, and departmental, inter-university and international. There are 19 more partnerships with foreign institutions for doctoral dissertations, Greek and foreign doctoral candidates with co-supervision.
On the Schools and Departments of study today about 72,000 students, of which 62,000 attend undergraduate programs and 10,000 graduate programs.
The Teaching and Research Staff (TRS) is 2119 persons, the Science Faculty (SAR) to 48 people and the Special Laboratory Teaching Staff 220 individuals for (59 E.E.Di. P. 161 I and II). In educational work even assist 174 members of the Technical Staff (E.T.E.P.) while the administration work 316 permanent employees and 445 by private law Indefinite Time (I.D.A.CH.).
